Danny "Popeye" Lawyer, 80, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Danny was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Thurston, to the late Homer E. and Sylvia M. (Coover) Lawyer. He attended Thurston United Methodist Church and received 24 pens for perfect attendance at church and Sunday School, and he was a paperboy for many years.He is survived by many nieces and nephews; a special niece, Diane Linger; and sister-in-law, Nita Lawyer of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Armstrong; and brothers, Arther (Monk), Nelson (Dynamite) and Melvin (Hoop) Lawyer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 56 S. Main St., Thornville.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Thurston Methodist Church with the Rev. Rebeka Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Baptist Cemetery in Thurston.
